2nd uphill time trial on Terra di Tandalò: Canalis wins again.

Buddusò– Franco Canalis climbs again on the highest step of the podium of the 2nd Cronoscalata on Terra di Tandalò. Two successful days for the Autoservice Sport Team driver who with his Buggy 4wd prototype won 3 out of four races thus doing an encore and winning the Tandalò uphill time trial for the second time, 2nd Giuseppe Marroni Trophy.

International podium for the 2017 edition because the Spanish driver J. Ramolo Queijo, winner of the last heat, ranks second behind Canalis on a kartcross run by Ya-Car, a Spanish team from Galicia. Third final position for Carta-Frau on the Dmax Citroen C4 Wrc, 10”31 behind the winner.

Canalis also won the “Trofeo Pirelli – Autoservice Sport”. Pirelli, technical partner of the race in collaboration with the Autoservice Sport Team, had in fact offered race tires as a prize for the first winner entirely on Pirelli tires during the race.

The first stage saw new and "old" protagonists in the rankings. The fastest was immediately the young Canalis followed by Carta who placed second with his Citroen C4 WRC, third Marrone with the Mitsubishi Evo9 N4. The Spanish Ramolo Queijo is fourth in Kart Cross, one of the novelties of this edition which was in fact valid as the 6th Stage of the TTDK-C/17 Multidisciplinary Interregional Trophy dedicated to the Kart Cross category under the aegis of ACI Sport, a world-class trophy.

The 70 verified drivers battled it out right from qualifying with Marrone snatching pole position but then dropping back slightly. Nicoletta's 500, a new prototype with 3 motorbike engines, impressed with its noise, finishing 12th after the two tests. Great battle also between the small two-wheel drive cars with Lai in 27th place at the wheel of the small Peugeot 106.

Sunday, Stage 2, which begins with Canalis leading the PS3 followed again by the Spanish Ramolo and the Carta – Frau crew third. In SS4 Canalis slipped to eighth position leaving first place to Ramolo who won the race but the young Sardinian driver was still the leader in the general classification and won the race.

A very fierce competition that saw 66 of the 70 verified competitors between cars, buggies and kart crosses reach the end.

The race, the only one of its kind in Italy today, took place on a 5 km uphill route on a dirt road on the Buddusò Mountains with arrival in the Tandalò Wind Farm, a stupendous natural setting.

The organization of the race is managed by drivEvent in collaboration with Lrt Sardinia and Tandalò Motorsport who close this 2017 edition with enormous satisfaction and pride for the success that the event has had, despite it being only in its second edition.

An important thank you goes to all the Sponsors, Iveco Acentro Nieddu Trasporti and Optimax, who have believed and invested in this competition which is growing and going on thanks to the strong collaboration with the Municipality and the Buddusò Bodies which recognize the value of sporting events and the contribution they can make to their territory, which has always been a land of engines.

Thanks again for the welcome and warmth received also from the Sardinian population who did not fail to be present on the side of the track during the two days of competition.
